How to use CGDI BMW to read/ write BMW N13/N20 and N55 ISN

How to use CGDI prog BMW MSV80 to read/ write BMW N13, N20 and N55 ISN without unsoldering?
Here share a real story from a customer. Hope can help you out.

Background:

A customer lost his all BMW car keys. He let a locksmith program a new key to his car. The locksmith made a small incision in the engine to program new keys. But the locksmith forgot to seal the incision when he finished all the work.

The car owner washed his car and caused water get into the DME. He asked BMW dealer whether the car has warranty when repaired outside. The BMW dealer told him cannot. Finally, the car owner changed a new ECU in the BMW store, but the BMW dealer didn’t find the incision so that compensated 30,000 RMB to the car owner.
So! Is there a fast and safe method to read BMW ISN without unsoldering or punching?
Of course! Here I’d like to share the method with wiring harness.
It’s very easy to use, only need to unplug the port from the car and connect the harness with DME.
Test on three different kinds of DME: N13, N20 and N55.
Note: Wiring harness cannot be mixed, only used in the corresponding model of DME.

1.Test N20 DME -OK
Plug the wiring harness to N20 ECU
Connect CGDI prog BMW to N20 ECU via OBD
Power on and keep the voltage stable (about 12V)

Open CGDI BMW software
Select “BMW ISN Read Write”-> “Read DME ISN”
Read N20 DME ISN successfully

Modify the last three numbers of ISN to 888
Click “Write DME ISN”
Write new DME ISN successfully

Return to CGDI BMW menu
Select “BMW ISN Read Write”-> “Read DME ISN” to read info again
The new DME ISN is read succeed

2.Test N13 DME -OK
Connect all the devices well as same as the N20
Go to CGDI BMW software-> “BMW ISN Read Write”-> “Read DME ISN”
Read N13 DME ISN successfully

Modify the last three numbers of ISN to 888
Click “Write DME ISN”
Write new DME ISN successfully

Return to CGDI BMW menu
Repeat the same steps to read DME ISN
Read New DME ISN succeed

3.Test N55 DME –OK
Read new DME ISN successfully

Done!

CGDI MB program new key for Benz GL440

This article is to share my experience with using CGDI prog MB to program new key to Benz GL440.

Here you go!
Firstly, I connect cgdi mb to my GL440 via OBD, and connect cgdi mb to PC by usb.

My car is one-click start, it cannot program new key. So I take out the one-click start button and insert the smart car key.

When I open CGMB software, it prompts “Error downloading update profile, please check network connection".

I try to connect by my smart phone spot.
Good! The network is connected successfully.

Now I start to program my car key.
The detailed operation steps as below
Step 1: Collect EIS Data
Step 2: Calculate password
Step 3: Generate key
Step 4Write new key
Step 5Test new key
In detail…
Step 1: Collect EIS Data
Insert the original gl440 car key to CGDI MB device to read key info
Return to CGDI MB software
Select “Read/ Write Key”-> “Infrared”-> “Read Key/ Chip”
It shows this key is on position 3, no used!

At this time, need to read EIS data to confirm whether the original can match or not.
Select “EIS”–>”Read EIS Data” to display key info

The key can program new key.
Click “Compute Password”–>”Copy key with key” –> “Collect Data”
Follow the prompt to select other key mode, and then click “OK”

Insert the original key into EIS and click “OK”

Note: Insert the key, no need to twist it
Then insert the original key into CGDI MB device, and click “OK”

It will take about 3 minutes to collect data
EIS data is collected successfully
Insert the original key into EIS again and click “OK”
Wait for 10s, and take out the key
Insert the original car key into EIS again
Take out the key for 5s, and insert into EIS again
Insert the original key into CGDI MB coil again
Click “OK” to collect data
Collecting data is complete and save data to desktop
Save file successfully

Click “Upload Data” and open the file saved just now to upload

Upload the data successfully
Step 2: Calculate password
Click “Query Result” to calculate password
This procedure needs about 2 minutes
Computing success
Copy the password calculated to desktop to backup

Click “EIS”-> Paste the password-> “Save EIS Data”

Step 3: Generate key
Select “Generate EE”-> Remove the tick mark of key 3
Click “Load EIS file” to check EIS data information

The EIS file includes SSID, key password and VIN
Confirm the key password is correct
Click “Generate key file”
It takes 1 minute to generate
Save the file to desktop
Generate successfully

Step 4Write new key
Put the new key into cgdi rog mb to read info
Select “Read/ Write Key”-> “Infrared”-> “Read Key/ Chip”
It shows this new is not used
Click “Reset” to erase the key data
Note: Regardless of the key is used or not, please remember to erase the data, otherwise will be failed to write
Reset operation succeed

Click “Open/Write” button
Note: Smart key please choose 41 format, common key and BE key please choose 51 format! When writing the original key, please make sure that it is wiped by the CGMB, otherwise the write will fail!

Choose one key unused file to write
Write success

Click “Read key/ chip” to confirm whether the key is written successfully or not
Step 5: Test new key
Finish all the steps above. The last step is to test the new key.
Insert the new key into EIS to learn automatically
Light up the instrument- OK

Remote the window- OK

Turn on ignition switch- OK
